The Information Systems Security Officer will be responsible for maintaining the security posture of information systems by evaluating security solutions, managing configuration, and ensuring compliance with policies for classified information.
You Will Excel in the Role if You Are:
A Day in the Life Consists of:
- Planning and coordinating IT security programs and policies across assigned information systems
- Managing and controlling system changes and assessing their security impact
- Supporting the certification and accreditation (C&A) process in accordance with ODNI and DoD policies
- Maintaining operational security posture and performing day-to-day security operations
- Evaluating security solutions to ensure they meet requirements for processing classified information
- Administering user identification and authentication mechanisms for assigned Information Systems (IS)
- Maintaining records on workstations, servers, routers, firewalls, intelligent hubs, network switches, and other infrastructure, including system upgrades
- Providing configuration management (CM) for security-relevant software, hardware, and firmware
- Supporting senior ISSOs with implementing and enforcing information systems security policies, standards, and methodologies
- Assisting with the preparation and maintenance of security documentation
