TL;DR
Transition Echodyne's proprietary antenna technology into manufacturable MESA radar hardware. Integrate antennas with PCBs, validate prototypes using VNA and chamber/OTA methods, and correlate simulation with measured data. Work with RF, PCB, component, and manufacturing teams on DFM/DFT, tolerance analysis, and supplier interaction.
Echodyne offers the world’s first compact solid-state true beam-steering radar for a wide range of industries and applications. Our high-performance radars work in all weather and are designed for autonomous vehicles, uncrewed aircraft & drones, and security of borders, critical infrastructure, and smart cities. The company combines the patented technology of metamaterials with powerful software to create a radar sensor with unprecedented performance at commercial price points. Echodyne offers its radars to companies working in Automotive, Transportation, Critical Infrastructure Protection, Border Security, Smart Cities, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS), and Airspace Management including Urban Air Mobility (UTM).
Echodyne is seeking a Sr. Antenna Production Engineer to join our fast-growing team.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking an Sr. Antenna Production Engineer to help transition our proprietary antenna technology into manufacturable MESA radar hardware. This role works closely with RF, Electromagnetics, PCB, Component Engineering, and Manufacturing/Test.
The primary focus is antenna industrialization: translating antenna concepts and designs into practical product implementations through antenna-to-PCB integration, prototype validation, tolerance analysis, measurement correlation, supplier interaction, and production-readiness.
Experience with RF subsystem, Antenna-in-Package, advanced packaging, or RFIC-related development is a strong plus, but the core mission is to help make antenna technology manufacturable, testable, and scalable.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Support antenna production for MESA radar antenna hardware
Translate antenna concepts and prototype designs into production-ready implementation
Work with RF engineers on array antenna/RF chain integration, impedance matching, calibration impact, and radar-level performance
Collaborate with PCB Engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing on antenna-aware stack-up, layout, materials, fabrication, assembly, packaging, and test readiness
Support antenna DFM/DFT, tolerance analysis, manufacturability reviews, and validation using VNA, chamber/range, and OTA test methods
Correlate simulation and measured data to assess design risks, improvement areas, implementation options, and cost/performance tradeoffs
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE
Experience with phased-array radar, SATCOM, RF/microwave wireless systems, RF sensor networks, or active antenna arrays
BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetics, RF/Microwave Engineering, or related field
5+ years of experience or more in antenna, RF, radar, wireless hardware, phased-array, or microwave system development
Understanding of antenna fundamentals, including radiation patterns, gain, efficiency, polarization, impedance matching, coupling, and array behavior
Hands-on experience with RF or antenna measurement equipment such as VNA, spectrum analyzer, signal generator, chamber/range, or OTA test setup
Familiarity with EM simulation tools such as HFSS, CST, FEKO, ADS, or equivalent
Practical understanding of PCB stackups, RF materials, feed routing, vias, transitions, grounding, and shielding and the manufacturability implications of each
Ability to work cross-functionally with RF, EM, PCB, component, mechanical, manufacturing, and test teams
DESIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE (Looking for one or more as a complement to the core skills)
Experience transitioning antenna or RF designs from prototype toward product hardware
Exposure to Antenna-in-Package, antenna-on-package, high frequency substrates, interposers, or advanced RF packaging
Understanding of RFIC/package parasitics and package-to-antenna interactions
Experience with active component placement near antenna structures
Python, MATLAB, or similar scripting experience for data analysis, measurement automation, or simulation post-processing
Echodyne’s technology is export controlled by the U.S. Government and we must evaluate an applicant’s eligibility to handle export-controlled information or obtain required Government authorizations. Therefore, we will ask you as part of the application process to identify whether you are a U.S. Citizen or green card holder, or have asylum/refugee status in the U.S.
